Mechanism of Action

Apta-1 has a unique mechanism of action (MoA) that allows simultaneous control of coagulation and inflammation, without tilting the balance towards excessive bleeding and immune suppression. This multi-effective profile makes Apta-1 a suitable drug candidate for sepsis and other acute inflammatory conditions.

Aptahem develops RNA-based drugs to treat acute and life-threatening conditions through their smaller size and high binding specificity. By uniquely binding thrombin, Apta-1 rapidly leads to both anti-thrombotic and anti-inflammatory effects while avoiding serious side effects such as bleeding disorders and over-suppression of the immune system.
